Today we’re going to visit a studio apartment located on rue de Sevres at the junction of the 6th, 7th and 15th districts of Paris. This furnished apartment is located in the very chic neighborhood, Saint-Germain-des-Prés. This apartment is located on the 7th floor (8th floor in the US) of an 18th century elevator building. Upon entering the apartment, you’ll find the kitchen and dining area. This American style kitchen is equipped with a small fridge, two electric burners, a sink, a microwave, a coffee maker and a toaster. Just next to the open kitchen is a small dining table and chairs. Next you will find the living space. One of this room’s best features is that it has an entire wall made up of windows, offering a spectacular view of Paris, les Invalides and even a partial view of the Eiffel Tower! The bed is found in the back corner of the living area facing the wall of windows. Imagine waking to a decorative marble fireplace to your left a beautiful view of rooftops and the Parisian skyline. The orange tiled bathroom is equipped with a small window, a bathtub and a sink. Returning to the entrance of the studio apartment, you will find a small separate toilet as well as a closet for your belongings. Now that we have visited the apartment, let’s head out and visit the surrounding neighborhood. Let’s start by visiting some neighboring streets like rue Vaneau. Here you will find l’Impasse des Artisans, whose large door opens into a sort of secret garden. At 24 Rue de Sèvres, you’ll find Le Bon Marché. Founded in 1838, it was the first ever department store to open in France. Here, you will find many name brands as well as La Grande Epicerie of Paris, where you can buy fine delicatessens. Just across the street from Le Bon Marché you will find La chapelle Epiphanie du séminaire des Missions Etrangères. The interior of this church is a must see! Not far from here, you’ll find the église Saint-Germain-des-Prés. This abbey was founded in the year 558. That’s right, 5-5-8!! It is surrounded by many well known cafés, bars and restaurants.
