MY NEW HOME in Lima Peru! // Miraflores Apartment Tour // Remote Year

Just arrived at Saint Louis Airport
headed to Miami. We have a layover and then off to Lima. So I made it to Lima, it’s 9:45 at night. I’m going to go check out my apartment meet some of
the remote year people. I think we’ll do an apartment tour tomorrow. Good morning from Lima Peru! So I made it to Lima Peru and my
apartment is in the beautiful miraflores district which is kind of like the santa
monica of lima. I’m traveling with remote year and I have two roommates in this
apartment it’s a three bedroom two level apartment so without further ado I’ll
give you a tour so our part min is right alongside a
beautiful part but also a noisy highway nothing’s perfect right we’re on the
11th floor right about here so here’s the front door where we come in and this
is our half bath so this apartment actually has three
bathrooms one on the main level this half bath and a full bath in the main
suite and a full bath shared between the other two bedrooms one side note in Peru
they don’t flush toilet paper down the toilet so you have to put it in a trash
can and that’s made for some interesting and awkward conversations with my
roommates on how we’re gonna handle that logistically next is this beautiful
kitchen and this five-burner stove is kind of going to waste on me since I
don’t really cook but at least my roommates do this is even an eat-in
kitchen even though we have formal dining table which I’ll show you
in a few minutes I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that we had a
washer and dryer next we’ll head into the living room
slash formal dining room so far my two roommates and I have used this more as a
work space than a dining or hanging out space both of them work at this table
but I usually go sit on the couch and work now back towards the kitchen and
this is our kind of beachy vibe the kind of living room it sits nice and lastly
on this floor we have this cool balcony like I said the highway is kind of loud
but we do have this great this Park is actually a memorial to Peruvian veterans
who fought in the war of the Pacific against the Chileans so that was it for
the top floor now we head down to the bottom floor where all the bedrooms are
so the military taught me to make use of what you have in your house to work out
and this is a great little pull-up spot I found so this is the second of the
three bathrooms it’s a full bath and it’s the one I share with my other
roommate Jill so yeah this is a nice bathroom it serves its purpose
so here is my bedroom but first I’ll show you down the hallway to the other
two bedrooms I don’t feel right about going into my roommates bedrooms but
that’s where they are and you can take my word for it but pretty much lastly we
have my bedroom and it’s actually cut a pretty big bed here this is probably
like a California king I don’t know it’s it’s pretty huge it’s way too big for
one person another thing about Lima is they don’t
really use air conditioners so every unit has and finally I have this really
big closet it’s great so that’s my apartment here in the miraflores
district of lima peru and my first apartment with Ramon
since I am traveling with remote year the cost of my apartment is included in
my monthly cost that I paid a remote year so not exactly sure what this
particular apartment costs but based on my research you can get a similar
three-bedroom apartment here in mira flores for around 15 to 2,000 a month so
if you share the apartment with two people like I am in this apartment
it’ll cost you around five to seven hundred a month a studio or one bedroom
here mira flores will cost you anywhere from 600 to $1,000 a month but you can
find much more affordable apartments and places outside of the miraflores
neighborhood i plan on making a lot more videos here in peru including hiking the
Inca Trail to Machu Picchu as well as some videos just tour in the
neighborhoods and eating the great Peruvian food if you have any
recommendations for places to go here in the miraflores district please comment
below i also be showing you what it’s like to travel full time and to travel
in a program like remove year so he just passed 600 subscribers thank you if you
subscribe and if you like this video please consider in subscribing below
thanks for watching

  1. I’ve been watching your videos and they just get better and better! I leave for RY at the end of June! You’re making me so excited!

  2. Cool apartment and location. Yeah that bed is ginormous! Great video quality and so excited about journey!!

  3. Wow, well done man! you video has gotten way better, my pixel 3 comes inn next week, can't wait to start my channel with it

  4. Really pretty apartment! I haven't stayed in anything like that yet. But my rooms have been running about $5-6 a night, so I can't really complain. I am now on Koh Samui Island in South Thailand staying at a place for less than $6 a night, about a 3-minute walk to the beach. It is so pretty here, the beaches and the jungle inland. Supposed to be 82 degrees every day this week and 75 every night. They have a nice shaded courtyard area and pool where I like to sit and work on my laptop and listen to the tropical birds. There is also a really good seafood restaurant on site with prices from about $1 to $8 a meal. So far I have spent less than $400 for nearly 20 days (less than $800 if you include airfare), and I'm having a blast! I've made way more than I've spent, so the digital nomad thing is working well so far! Not sure how long I will stay. Maybe 2 or 3 weeks. Eventually I will get around to making a vlog. But right now I am just relaxing on island time, haha! Cheers!

  5. Another great video! Looks like a pretty sweet place to suffer through editing. Digging that drone work. If only you could use it at Machu Picchu.

  6. Hey! I’m an American coming from Atlanta staying in Peru from April 5-16. Would you be interested in a collaborative vlog video.. i have a few sponsors while I’m down there in exchange for video work I’ll be doing for them!

  7. It's so great to see you doing this! I have heard the food there is amazing. Especially the seafood.

  8. So awesome that you're there. We are headed to Peru in about 30 days. Your apartment was pretty spacious. Totally understand the toilet paper thing. We were just in Mexico City and the rules were the same. Definitley makes for interesting and awkward conversation. See you have your drone. How did you find getting it into Lima? Did you have to apply for a special permit. I hear so many mixed reviews. Great questions regarding the food. That's one thing wer're doing a lot of research on because we love to eat. Very cool video and creative. Could you also take a look at our latest video, as we'd love to hear what you think as well.
