  1. I agree with everything the landlord just stated. This is ridiculous. How do people live that way for one, and two, how dare you leave someone else's property in ruins like this???

  2. People are liars for not listening to be eagerly honest there’s assistant going on part of that it’s not healthy. Tax Payers should be removed and they are very mentally selfish.

  3. That's ridiculous!!! Not everyone on section 8 are skanks." The ones that are should be kicked off the assistance program.

  4. My parents had rent housed in the 60's and 70's. None of them were Section 8 and a lot of them left the houses like a disaster area, you live and you learn. I know a guy who gets Section 8 because he has a disability and struggles to clean but there's no malice involved and it's not dirty but not perfect. Key issue is he's disabled and can't keep it immaculate although he would if he could. You have to screen your tenants no matter where they came from.

  5. I am a black man who deals with rentals. I agree with the ideal of a move out inspection. Fail the inspiration and no new voucher

  6. Do not rent to section 8. Unless you do an extensive background check.
See there are people who need the help and are good tenants but these situations are making landlords think about it.

If they were regular working people he could sue, but these are destitute people. I guess everyone will have to get a job.

  7. Well…you go private and you have a higher risk of rent not getting paid…Section 8..rent is guaranteed…gotta get a pretty big deposit that will offset the move out costs and repairs…its just part of doing business…nobody said it wld be easy…and section 8 isnt 4 everybody

  8. Renting should be done base-by-base. Rental history, how much money they owed to previous renters, testimonials, references. These things should always be checked before renting to anyone. Section 8 or not.
If they done it once, they've done it before. You know?
There are good people in section 8 but there are a lot of bad ones who do drugs, and sell, lie, and cheat the system.
I feel bad for the good hearted people on section 8.

  9. I'm on section 8 and I treat my apartment like it was mine. But I would not rent to section 8 if I owned an apartment.

  10. That's a great idea. Sec 8 should have someone check out the property before the tenant is (cleared) to move somewhere else.

  11. I don't blame them . We owned an apartment and rented to a Section 8. Instead of talking the trash out they just dumped INSIDE the house in front of the back door. Yup!! Have some left over food on your plate?? No problem scrape it off onto the pile. They snuck out in the middle of the night. You could not even see the back door. It was disgusting!

  12. I know what he's going through. 2 sets of tenants that were not section 8 destroyed my house. They left so much damage I cried.

  13. This is why I would never rent to section 8 recipients. I would rent to veterans or decent civilized people who will respect my property.

  14. Ain’t it funny that since Trump took office they’re posting all this bullshit I know people that are getting section 8 or responsible people and they keep their they go by the rules because they know they can’t afford not to so this is bullshit now there are some people that don’t care the majority do

  15. I think it’s partly the landlords fault. He rolled the dice renting to section 8 and lost…. he enjoyed the guaranteed money ….. but didn’t like when his he rented to the wrong people…. no one is forcing these landlords to do section 8…. The landlords KNOW the risk….

  16. I don't need to worry because I will never rent to a Section 8 if you can't pay your rent then you're not for me and you need to show me that you at least got six months rent in your bank account before I even consider you to come to my house and I'm going to visit where you live before you move out

  17. Kick the mother fucker out and stop rent to section 8 people dont do section 8 u a dam fool for renting to section 8 fuckers

  18. this is like saying only section8 people will leave your house that they rent from you a wreck any one will.

  19. I would hate to clean this mess up. However, IRS tax form 1040 schedule E, allows deductions for this mess. See line items 7 & 14. For LOLs, I would send a nice letter to the former tenant thanking them for the big tax deduction they gave me. And the poor wonder why the rich don't pay a lot in income taxes.

  20. I am tired of this fake news bullshit make Section 8 people look bad it doesn't matter if you're on Section 8 or not a regular tent with can do the same thing

  21. They should provide assistance to the tenants with packing, moving and cleaning. Most are overwhelmed with raising families by themselves and just getting by!

  22. People Like that makes us look bad who receive it. A thorough Screening should be done not just let any creeps in. If I was a landlord, and accepted Section 8, I would go through the whole process of checking credit, criminal and rental history. If one person has a bit of criminal I wouldn't take them at all

  23. I've worked in section 8 apartments. Tenants are rechid destructive and self absorbed. I will never work at one again.

  24. This is exactly why property owners should stay as far away from Section 8 Tennants as possible. They are never held accountable for anything

  25. Law states you can't illegally make section 8 do nothing .everything will be provided for the family.who does nothing .

  26. What they should do is the people that left that house that way should never get any more state or federal assistance to rent another house

  27. Landlords can protect themselves and their property by taking a photo of their units after it's been remodeled/repaired, do a walk around with the tenant before renting when the tenant leaves if the property isn't the way in the video or damaged, then the owner can take them to court, but the laws should be changed, If the property is damaged/destroyed then the renter shout be cut off from any future Sec8 housing.

  28. The government in a sense forces Sec8 on property owners, some states will threaten property owners with arrest and jail time if they don't rent, In my neighborhood there's a nice (or used to be) 3BR home that was rented three times, the first time the renters turned out to be drug dealers and SWAT had to do their thing, the second time a renter moved in, sometime later this guy ended up getting evicted, this last time a single mother with 4 kids moved in, two years later ended up getting thrown out, each time the owner spent thousands of dollars remodeling/restoring the home only to waste his money (this is not including legal and court cost to get these people out) this time he's selling the place no more Sec8 for him, and yes all three were black.

  29. This house was not trashed at all.
The people left everything behind..We dont know there side of story..Only the landlords

  30. Not just that many landlords won't accept them for a reason, most of the neighborhood won't even accept and respect them either.

  31. There's your tax dollars. These people make a mess and damage the unit, then someone else has to clean and fix it, which costs money and takes time. They leave stuff behind, then the landlord has to pay people to remove it. It's complete bullshit. My aunt and her boyfriend live in a one bedroom apartment in Greenwich, CT, which costs $1,900 per month, they're on Section 8, they only pay $560 per month, that means tax payers are paying $1,340 per month for their apartment. They're almost getting a free ride. Total bullshit, fucking leeches.

  32. SLUMLORDS ARE ALWAYS COMPLAINING, WHEN UR A LANDLORD YOU KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPENED AND U TAKE CHANCES,MOST LANDLORDS WHO RENT SECTION 8 ARE LAWBREAKERS,THEY RENT SECTION 8 AND ALLOW THE RENTERS TO MOVE OTHER PEOPLE IN AND IF THEY GIVE THEM CASH UNDER THE TABLE IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A GOOD AND HONEST LANDLORD,ALL LANDLORDS DO IS RENT TO PEOPLE,DON'T TELL THE TENANTS WHAT PROBLEMS IS WRONG WITH THE PROPERTY AND WHEN THE TENANTS START COMPLAINING,THE LANDLORDS ACT LIKE ITS NEW NEWS TO THEIR EARS.
PEOPLE NEED TO START EXPOSING THESE SLUMLORDS ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

  33. I have seen this first hand my neighbor had a 2 story house and destroyed it! free rent and just left it dirty and nasty!

  34. This happens all the time even with "private" renters. These landlords need to re-negotiate terms with their local section 8 agencies. Section 8 does little to nothing about landlords who do not keep the properties in good condition while they have a tenant either.

  35. that’s not all section 8 tenants ! I’m a single mom and I work but I also get help with my rent I pay half of it but my home is emaculate! I want to live in a nice home but this is the people who lived there you can’t blame section 8 that’s unfair there are tenants who don’t get it and they have left property disgusting . I had a slum lord who had my power hooked to another tenants apt my utility bill was 350$ that was not possible it was me and my daughter I worked 9 hours in a day and my daughter was at gymnastics after school got out from 4 to 8 I got home at 5 to 530 everyday ! He took advantage and he ended up having to pay back the money I gave the electric dept for 6 years he paid half to me he never fixed anything my rent total was 1945$ I paid 945$ of it this was a 1 bedroom so it was pretty hard to pay a 350 utility bill plus the rent my child’s gymnastics my phone so I had to work an extra 13 hours this was hard my slum lord was a millionaire and this is what he did to a struggling single mom I’m out of that hell hole I still made it emasculate when I left he actually kept my deposit I was just tired of dealing with him Dave Chiarlonzia slum lord he has such a bad rep for being a bad landlord but now I’m in a place my daughter and I love it’s big things get fixed so there are good tenants there also are bad landlords vise versa we have to
Say would you rather live in dirt n filth or live in a place you come home to and can relax and feel safe. I don’t think it’s fair when people take advantage and it gives others who do work and also receive help I live in jersey so it’s absolutely rediculouse how much landlords want for a apt monthly it’s crazy so I work hard very hard to give my child a good life with what I can she doesn’t want for nothing bec I do what I’m able to do but I’m thankful for section 8 this place is 2900$ I pay less than the other 1 bedroom apt where it was the size of my living room I’m very happy so it’s not section 8 it’s the type of people who don’t give a shit about there home and that’s sad.

  36. Section 8 residents don't put up.a security deposit.therefore charge them 20% in place of a security deposit.to cover any damages

  37. That’s why am most of those places now do not except Section 8 any longer because of people leaving their places looking like this. You can’t blame them I wouldn’t rent to them! Also I would make sure that they would never get another voucher to move anyway else to destroy another landlords property.

  38. Props to the comments who do not place stigmas to generalize a group of people. One spoil apple do not ruin the hold bunch. Placing general statements on a group of people is evident on low cognitive ability to discern individual actions, and closes the mind, leading to stupidity. If one apple is bad, then f*ucking toss that one apple in the garbage. But with ignorance in this world, the whole apple would be spoiled because the thinking capacity of throwing that one bad apple away was not an ideas formed in a close minded person, so the unaffected apples became affected overtime as a result of leaving that rotten apple in a barrel.

  39. Section 8 is a disaster. If they want their own hood then stay in your shitty "hood", don't come knocking on our neighborhood bringing your fucking crime!

  40. My ex neighbors did that with their house in my old neighborhood. They couldn’t pay their mortgage and rented it out to Section 8 tenants who trashed that house, and the bank seized it afterwards. It’s been purchased and renovated since then.
