  2. I learned my lesson about painting behind appliances. I was doing a kitchen paint job for an older neighbor across the street. She specifically asked me to paint behind her refrigerator and electric range. I may have been a terrible person for thinking this but I said to myself, "This lady is knocking on 80. There's no way in the world that she's going to move these appliances out of the way and check behind me to see that I did it. She'll probably be in a nursing home before she even thinks about replacing these things." Well I couldn't have been more wrong! 2 months later she purchased a new washer and dryer and the store gave her a free refrigerator. She was so happy that she bought a new range too. Long story short, I'm glad that I went ahead and painted behind the appliances anyway (in lieu of my earlier thoughts) because it would have been very embarrassing to try to explain why I made a promise and then lied about it.

  3. The wall where I had my old radiator in the bedroom was never painted before but I’m redecorating the whole room now so I’ll paint it soon before I put down my new floors and buy furniture and my favourite part put up the new 80 inch 4K OLED tv

  4. Excellent instructions-easy to listen to and follow. Picked up some good tips from you.

And, behind my toilets is where I haven't painted!

  6. the so called pros that put down my kitchen laminate flooring back in 2004 not only nailed the molding into the floor but caulked under it and after a fridge water line leak I have to take this mess up .I am going to put vinyl plank tile look in a 15×35 foot long room .So wish me luck .These were supposed to be pros hired by the flooring company to install floors in my whole house .Brand new house no furniture in it at the time .I am installing the vinyl plank myself .Just waiting for my floors to come in .I am also priming the subfloor with kilz premium primer 2 coats to seal it .I was lucky no subfloor damage from the leak.:)

  7. You can use an undercut saw to slide the board underneath the baseboard everywhere ! But that can be tuff you'll have no room to butt your pieces together correctly

  8. Always leave a quarter of an inch at least all the way around against walls on any floating floor application and if you just open a few boxes and work off a few boxes while installing you'll keep the random shade patterning random as best you can

  9. I've lived in this house for about 7 years now, my daughter (military) has Never been to this house, but I found a sock, hers because of the purple toe and heal, my unpainted spots are still behind the washer, dryer, toilet and gas stove, some things you just have to paint Around lol

  10. Just discovered this channel, looks awesome! Unlike my home d.i.y. projects…anyways, I'll have a look! How do you lay out vinyl planking at ends so its not showing end seams? Take care!

  11. So no vapor barrier is required? I'm wanting to install vinyl plank over laminate tile. Do I need a vapor barrier? My foundation is concrete.

  12. I've almost been ready to do the rest of my condo with the Essential Oak but at the same time I've been going back and forth whether or not to go with this beautiful Sterling Oak instead?. Whichever I choose will be for the a small condo. I did the bathroom with the Shadow Hickory which turned out awesome but I don't think I want the whole place quite that dark.
When I watch YT vids with people using that Sterling Oak, it always seems like there's a bit too much gray for my entire condo, but I'm leaning more and more toward the idea it's not:) That grain in the Sterling looks so nice and I also like the 8 1/2 inch width. It's 6.5 mil right? Thanks for the time you took to produce this video.

  13. using a utility knife does not work! neither does a jigsaw, which will cause a rough edge. buy a LARGE pair of tin-snips. planks with adhesive tongues/grooves is especially difficult.

  14. Everytime I try to hit the board the little things that separate the the board from the wall it comes off with the tape

  15. The link for the flooring is taking me to the HomeDepot site but not the flooring used. Can you help? What is the brand and color of the floor?

  16. damn you're good – will you marry me ?! JK but great video ! (no long boring pauses and lots of great troubleshooting

  17. I've put in VP flooring before, but just wanted a refresher before I start my next big project. You make it look so easy! I can't wait to get started.

  18. So if I have marble floor in certain areas and carpet in the other and I want to change all of the floors to laminate floor. Can I put the laminate on top of the existing marble or would I have to bust up the marble first? I am hoping I can just rip out carpet and replace that with the laminate as well as replacing over marble without having to remove the marble. Any help or guidance is appreciated.

  19. You make this look so easy. I tried and tried and tried. If I got the ends locked in the side groves would pop out. If I did a row of ends, the sides wouldn't align. I used the kit to align everything and still couldn't anything to stay put unless I taped pieces together. It took me a week to do a small area like your washroom. In the end I hired a professional to do the rest of the house. It was fun and enlightening to watch you do it.

  20. 4:52 you dont need to use measuring tape, flip the board up side down , put against the wall and draw vertical line where board meets the other board.

  21. I started installing my vinyl plank flooring and in a few months for some reason, it starts bending upwards from each side. I deduced that it's because of the cement platform below the vinyl is like cold and wet? in the morning it warmed up and cause trap air pushing the vinyl plank to bend upwards.

I started bending back the vinyl plank flooring outside on the sun by putting something heavy on top of it. it all went back straight, now im worried about it bending again. maybe i should put plastic flooring 1st then install vinyl planks?

  22. 👏👏👏👏👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💪💪💪💪💪💪💪👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

  23. I got one better! I've got two large holes in my ceiling in the bathroom because the plumbers were looking for a leak. No leaks. But now I got holes and I font know how to repair ceiling holes! 😭😭😭

  24. Wow, I'm loving this especially the overflow hole! Boy could we gave saved the flooding from the washer had the house builder installed one of them! I'm wondering how to install one now? Any ideas? Washer dryer is against an outside wall so it's easy access!

  25. As the rest of the world measures things in decimal scales, usually in the metric system, it would be very much awesome if you could at least put some anotations of the metric equivalent of your US/imp measurements (perhaps even get more viewers! )
Great video, really. Not overly technical, neither overly simplistic.
    Cheers 🙂

  26. You left out the most important information. What program did you use for the 3D model? Mapping out the area is the most important step.

  27. Great video. How flat or level does the floor need to be before using this product .? We’re remodeling an old “shotgun” home that is over 100 yrs old.

  28. NERD OUT!! I have been known to make models of furniture in order to rearrange a room. I will definitely be making one for my floors reno 😄

  29. Thank you. Is underlayment required for on top ceramic installation? Also, does vinyl flooring capable of handling moving high loads without warping?

  30. Was thinking about doing something like this. Saw beginners on it. Yeah think I will just pay for instillation. Buying all those tools for just a one time use.

  31. Question about your spacing blocks. If you're wall isn't leveled wouldn't that just transferred over to a non even floor since you are butting up the spacers to that wall?
